Fitness is just as good but not as important to take if you play right. You want strength and fitness to be high mostly strength at first to have a pretty easy game. Pick a career Ranger or Mechanic are solid choices. Oh well you can push them over and stomp them but i would not actively fight like that because its an easy way to get tired on some builds only use that when you need to because one has locked on to you and is in range. If you have no weapon there is no killing you have to avoid them until you find a weapon. What kind of Items should i keep an eye out for, and how to start setting up a Base? What Traits are considered useful, or should i rather go by picking a Career in the beginning? I've managed to deal with 2 at a time with a Baseball Bat, but then there was more, again. If there isnt a Weapon in the starting Spot how to kill them 6 Months later, and not even sure which direction to run, how to generally get away. Using q in this way to draw attention is better when you've already cleared the area surrounding the building and now only have to deal with what's inside because otherwise ones outside may hear you and can leave you surrounded. In which case you can use q to call them to the door allowing you to slip in the window to kill them from behind. That tends to be the most dangerous thing for me, where even when I know they're there and prepared to fight them, the controls can still just be really awkward and have me shove in the wrong way that gets me bit, so it's probably better off avoiding those doors, or else circling around the house to see if there's a back window to that room. Also, once I've cleared out the main area of a home, I'll use the q key to shout trying to help me identify if there are any zeds hiding behind a closed door like a bedroom or bathroom. When approaching buildings, try to walk up to windows to peak in to give you an idea if you're going to have to fight or not. You really don't want to be anyplace where the zombies are thickest so if you start somewhere where they are then you need to try to get to the outskirts of the city as soon as reasonably possible. More than likely it'll feel awkward and you'll get killed several times just doing that until you get comfortable with the mechanic, but it's better to learn that first rather than spend a bunch of time collecting stuff only to run into one you need to fight and not knowing how and have it end your run then. Just find a single zombie and practice shoving and attacking him and continue to repeat until you make a mistake and die. Don't focus on scavenging or anything yet. Use space to try to push them down then position by their head and space again to smash their head in, though you should have shoes to do that.īut just tell yourself your first few dozen attempts are going to be intentional deaths. Start slow, don't try to take more than one zombie at a time at first. It can be quite wonky and sometimes difficult to face a specific angle and the attack animations take some getting used to. Getting used to the combat is probably the biggest thing in my own opinion and being a days old newb myself.
